Positive Direction Counseling
  1. I’ve never been to therapy before, what’s it like?

At our first session, I will ask you questions about your history, relationships, health, and significant experiences. I will talk to you about the problem you are struggling with and what you hope to achieve with our work together. Based on our discussion, we will create a plan to help you reach your goals. I understand it’s hard to share personal stuff with someone you just met. I won’t pressure you to share anything that you’re not ready to talk about.

  2. Do you take insurance?

I’m in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and Healthgram insurances.

Some out-of-network insurance providers reimburse members for services. Upon request, I will provide you with a bill to give to your provider for reimbursement.

Insurance companies require a diagnosis of a mental health disorder and indicate that you must have an illness before being reimbursed for counseling services. Some conditions for which people seek counseling do not qualify for reimbursement. Any diagnosis given to your insurance company will become part of your permanent insurance records.

  3. How much does a session cost if paying out of pocket?

The cost for each 55 minute session is $115

  4. What if I have to cancel my appointment?

I require 24-hour notice if our appointment needs to be cancelled or rescheduled for non-emergency reasons. If proper notice is not given, you will be responsible for the full cost of services.
